Updating WRITELOG.INI
1.  Open WRITELOG.INI with Notepad or another edit utility on each PC.

2.  Add the following lines in a new group by itself:

[OBJECTS]
pktObject=DXT2WL.clsWlPacket

NOTE:  The characters "l" in the second line are the lower case "L" and
not the numeral 1.

3.  Close WRITELOG.INI electing to save changes.

4.  Verify the changes by opening WriteLog.

5.  Go to the Win
dow pull-down menu and choose "Packet Window".

6.  When the packet window opens, verify it says "DXTelnet <> WriteLog Packet Spot Linker".

7.  Close the packet window and close WriteLog on each PC.

Comments:

You can add the [OBJECTS] lines between any series listing in WRITELOG.INI.  I chose to add mine just below the [Configuration] series of commands and above the [Summary] series of commands as shown here.
Once you have amended the WRITELOG.INI file on each PC, you can test to see if DXT2WL.EXE was properly placed in the system Registry.

Open up WriteLog.  Go to the Win
dows pull-down menu and choose "Packet Window" .  A DXTelnet packet window should open.  If you press F9 with the packet window open, it will show you the path to DXT2WL.EXE as shown below.

If the Packet Window opens correctly on each PC, then you can rest assured that DXT2WL.EXE was registered correctly in the Registry.  Close WriteLog and proceed to the next step which is to configure UDPSEND.EXE.
Troubleshooting:

"Could not open OLE object"

If you get this message when you attempt to open the packet window within WriteLog check for the following:

Make sure your WRITELOG.INI file entry is correct as shown in Step #2 above.

Make sure you have run DXT2WL.EXE once on the PC to place it into the system Registry.

If you still receive this error message, you may need to search the system Registry to make sure the path to DXTELNET.EXE is correct.  For instructions on searching and editing the system Registry
