Special RTTY Spot Filtering within DXTelnet
Instruction steps:

1.  Run DXTelnet on PC "A".

2.  Hit ESC or click on the
Cancel button to hide the Site List.

3.  Go to the
Configuration pull-down menu and choose "Filter...".

4.  In the "DX-Telnet:  Spot Filters Configuration" window, place the cursor in "Select only DX spots containing these words:" entry box and type in RTTY (upper or lower case, does not matter).

5.  Press the
Save button.  Now only spots with the word RTTY will be received in the "Received DX Spots:" window of DXTelnet.  These RTTY spots will then be the only spots sent to UDPSEND and only RTTY spots will show up in the Packet Window of each WriteLog session.

Comments:

Using the Filter feature of DXTelnet is the essence for using DXTelnet in the first place for RTTY.  For CW or SSB you can enter frequencies in the "DX-Telnet:  Spot Filters Configuration" window so that spots received within those frequencies specified are only sent to WriteLog via UDPSEND.  However, for RTTY, it's better to specify the word "RTTY" in the "Select only DX spots containing these words:" entry box.  This way, any spot that has "RTTY" in it will be sent to WriteLog.  It does not matter if RTTY is upper or lower case, the spots will still come through regardless.

You could specify certain frequency ranges for RTTY sub-bands in the Filter window of DXTelnet, but spots such as 40M SSB spots and some CW spots will find their way through.  These SSB & CW spots are unwanted during a RTTY contest and therefore setting "Select only DX spots containing these words:" to RTTY is the best choice.  It is rare that a spot for RTTY is put out without the word "RTTY" in the comments field of the spot.
